Established in 1435, the Mazzei family is widely considered one of the founding families of Chianti Classico. Today, the winery remains family-owned after 25 generations and is one of the most awarded wineries in Tuscany. In addition to their historic Castello di Fonterutoli winery in Chianti Classico, the family has additional properties in Maremma, Sicily and Veneto, and produces wines from the North to the South of Italy.
